Dr. María Tihui Cervantes
MBBS FRACGP MPH
Dr María Tihui Cervantes is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners with over 30 years of medical experience. She completed her Medical Degree in 1994 in Mexico and migrated to Australia in 2010, where she has worked as a GP in Adelaide for the past 14 years.
She has dedicated much of her career to supporting multicultural communities. Her key areas of interest include Women’s Health, Sexual Health, contraception (including Mirena and Implanon insertions and removals), pre-conception counselling, GP Obstetrics Shared Care, prevention and management of chronic disease, weight management including plant-based programs, ADHD diagnosis and management, iron infusions, minor surgery, and Mental Health.
Dr Cervantes is one of the first 100 GPs in South Australia authorised to diagnose, prescribe and manage ADHD in primary care. This is a meaningful step towards improving access, continuity of care, and timely support for patients and families navigating ADHD. Outside of medicine, Dr Tihui enjoys hiking, cooking and gardening, and is a passionate advocate for animal welfare. She performs traditional Mexican folkloric dance, and studies Flamenco to further refine her skills. She finds that dancing keeps her grounded, connected, and inspired.
Dr Tihui is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
