Since moving to Australia, Sean has lived in the Adelaide Hills and absolutely loves the community feel in Blackwood. Sean has a particular interest in chronic disease, preventative medicine and men's health. (Hons) NOT ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS Dr. Simon James is originally a Pom. He was born in Swindon, England at some point in the late 1970s. He then studied medicine at the Royal London School of medicine and dentistry, graduating with MBBS and a BSc. with honours in physiology in 2000. He worked in Southend hospital where he met his wife, and then was a GP for 8 years in the beautiful seaside town of Leigh-on-Sea, before deciding to immigrate to Australia and join Russell Clinic in 2010. He quickly became a part of the team and a partner shortly after. Dr. James is married to Becky and has 2 children: Ben and Izzy. When not running around after the kids or working, he is a cricket tragic but can also entertain himself watching most other sports too. He is a member of the Adelaide Oval, although if seen there when the cricket is on (especially the Ashes) he is sometimes distracted from conversation. He also loves film, is keen on the gym, and enjoys meals out. Medically he considers himself a generalist, but particularly enjoys paediatric care and chronic disease. He performs minor operations and suturing. Dr. James works Monday - Friday. He is understandably very popular and has a large patient base. (University of West Indies). Following his medical training, he gained valuable experience whilst working in various medical and surgical specialties across a few Caribbean countries, namely in Georgetown, Guyana and Castries, St Lucia. He then migrated to the UK where he continued to work and study and finally made the decision after the birth of his first child to move to Australia. On his arrival he worked extensively in the hospital setting and spent almost 8 years working across various medical specialties whilst completing his physician training requirements. Gibraun then made a decision in an effort to establish some work - life balance to enter into General Practice. He has remained rooted to same since 2010. In 2012, he and his family went back to the Oxford Deanery in the UK where he worked for 2 years whilst engaging in extensive skills training in the fields of Diabetes and Respiratory Medicine. Since his return in 2014, he worked at the Colonel Light Medical Centre prior to joining the Russell Clinic as a partner in 2017. He enjoys all aspects of general practice and family medicine, including paediatrics, chronic disease management, iron infusions, removal of skin lesions and general dermatology among the rest of diverse presentations. She worked as a doctor in a variety of specialties in the UK before emigrating to South Australia in 2013. We are lucky enough to have had Dr. Cunningham as a valued part of the Russell Clinic team since 2020. As a generalist, Dr. Cunningham has an interest in all aspects of general practice. She has particular experience in emergency medicine, sexual health (including PREP prescribing), women’s health (including implanon insertion and removal) and paediatrics. Dr. Cunningham also performs skin lesion biopsy/excisions and suturing. In her spare time, Dr. Cunningham plays the classical guitar and enjoys the outdoors, particularly kayaking, cycling and jogging. She completed her Medical Degree in 1994 in Mexico and migrated to Australia in 2010, where she has worked as a GP in Adelaide for the past 14 years. She has dedicated much of her career to supporting multicultural communities. Her key areas of interest include Women’s Health, Sexual Health, contraception (including Mirena and Implanon insertions and removals), pre-conception counselling, GP Obstetrics Shared Care, prevention and management of chronic disease, weight management including plant-based programs, ADHD diagnosis and management, iron infusions, minor surgery, and Mental Health. Outside of medicine, Dr Tihui enjoys hiking, cooking and gardening, and is a passionate advocate for animal welfare. She performs traditional Mexican folkloric dance, and studies Flamenco to further refine her skills. She finds that dancing keeps her grounded, connected, and inspired. Dr Tihui will be available for appointments in the New Year, starting January 5, and will be here on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
